Year End

I'm caught up in a whirlwind of activity lately, and there is nothing that I can do about it, except continue forging on.

Its the end of our first fiscal year in business, and we are doing our year end, annual report and government necessary taxes. With this comes the inevitable general meeting to revisit the past year and discuss goal planning for the coming year/s.

We have learned so much and traveled so far. Our support and allies have grown stronger and stronger. We would not be where we are with out the help of some fantastic people.

  • Certified General Accountant
  • Book Keeper
  • Personal Assistant (to Jennifer)
  • Laundry Crew
  • Maintenance Staff
  • Ghost Writers
  • Support Staff (door support, kitchen, cashier, greeter)
  • Front Line Volunteers (monitors & exploration aides)
  • Printer

Thank you to everyone who has helped hold us together the last year. We could not have done it with out you all. Last year was about our birth and this next year for us, is all about growth. Stick with us, and help shape us into the sex - positive entity that will continue serving BC for years and years to come.

Name Tags

Being hurt by some one else is something that I try to shield myself from. I dislike negative experiences and try to learn from each of them, in the hopes of never having to endure the same misfortune again.

Being in the public eye, means that I'm often in the midst of local hot sex culture issues. Not regularly, but often enough that most people know of me.

More often than not, my name is thrown around as though some one knows me or acts as though I am a close ally when in fact, I am not. I'm simply the connecting link between communities, politics, social circles, sex education & events, all through the PNW sex culture.

The part that bothers me in this is the people who think they "know me" based on community gossip, or simply because they regularly see me, as in visually across a room. Asking me a question in email, or even hugging me at an event, does not make us friends.

Call yourself a friend of mine, when you know I will remember your name and perhaps some history between us. Being introduced to me at large events, bar nights, or even fetish evenings likely means I won't remember you. Not unless something big happened between us, and even then I know an obscene amount of people so excuse me while I ask you your name three, four or five times over till I finally remember who you are.

And yes, I know you
always get my name right when you see me. Good on ya! You likely don't have a hundred people a week expecting you to remember their names and personal stories.

You'll know were friends, when I get your name right the first name it rolls off my tongue and I actually have something to say to you, other than err, um Hello....Scott, Frank, Peter, Dave...what was your name again?

I'm known to a lot of really wonderful people. Thank you for supporting me as a friend and as a business woman. I sure appreciate how well treated I am and all that you do for me.

Movie and a Cuddle

Travis, Allena and I went to dinner at a local restaurant, and ate on their patio, in the shade, to try and escape the heat. The TreeHouse is a nice little neighborhood place that we've been eating at for over a year now. We were perhaps going to head off to the pan party at the center afterwards but ended up making the wise decision to stay in watching a movie instead.

You have got to watch Lars and the Real Girl. What a funny movie and absolutely worth seeing. Cuddled up on the sofa till just after midnight we both laughed and cried as the show progressed. Given that I don't get emotional watching films, this movie to its credit drew from me many reactions.

In this comedy, Lars Lindstrom is an awkwardly shy young man in a small northern town who finally brings home the girl of his dreams to his brother and sister-in-law's home. The only problem is that she's not real - she's a sex doll Lars ordered off the Internet.

This morning I was awake way to early for my own good. Today is Pride here in Seattle and the weather is going to be a scorcher. My final class is late this afternoon, post parade and it's SM 101, A Little More Than a Slap & A Tickle. Everything is ready to go packed up and all I need to do is to arrive and hand over the information in a way that will excite and be accessible to all. I can do this, no problem.

I plan on getting some shopping done today before my class and before I head back north to higher prices and poor selections on most purchases. Oh Canada.

Checked on RC at home a short while ago, and he appears to be doing ok on the home front with out me. I've not had a chance to miss him yet, I've just been simply to busy.

Allena is madly typing in her office naked, and I am in the living room typing zipping fast getting things done as well. We really are a force of power. Girl Power that is.
